A rail operations problem at Londa Yard caused major disruption in South Western Railway's Hubballi division, throwing train schedules off balance and leaving large numbers of passengers waiting for hours. The issue was linked to an NI work block at the yard, with the disruption severe enough to affect both regular services and premium trains.
According to the report details, more than 12 trains were delayed, with some running over five hours late. The disruption also held up a Vande Bharat service, while a number of other train services were cancelled altogether. As delays built through the day, thousands of travelers were stranded across affected stations.
The incident highlights how a single yard-level technical or operational glitch can quickly spread across a wider rail network.
