City Union Bank reported a strong start to FY27, with first-quarter net profit rising 25% year on year to ₹383 crore. The latest City Union Bank Q1 FY27 results also showed healthy growth in core income and business volumes.
Net interest income, a key measure of lending performance, increased 32% in the quarter. The bank also posted broad-based expansion in its balance sheet, with deposits rising 21% and advances growing 25% compared with the previous year.
Asset quality improved alongside the growth. Gross non-performing assets declined to 1.73%, while net non-performing assets fell to 0.61%. The lower bad-loan ratios suggest that City Union Bank continued to strengthen its loan book even as it expanded lending.
Overall, the Q1 FY27 numbers point to a combination of stronger profitability, higher income and improving credit quality for City Union Bank. The quarter reflects momentum in both business growth and asset quality trends.
