Air India Express has announced a cargo fee waiver for relief materials being sent to flood-affected areas of Assam. The move is aimed at supporting ongoing relief and rehabilitation work in the state after severe flooding.

According to the announcement, the waiver applies to consignments sent by registered NGOs. The airline said the free cargo provision will cover shipments moving to Guwahati, the main air gateway for relief supplies heading into Assam.

The offer is available on Air India Express flights operating from Delhi as well as other cities connected to Guwahati. The airline noted that it runs multiple daily services on these routes, which could help aid agencies move essential materials more quickly.

The decision adds logistical support at a time when Assam continues recovery efforts. By removing cargo charges for eligible organisations, Air India Express is helping make the transport of flood relief supplies easier during an ongoing emergency response.
