The Competition Commission of India has approved the proposed merger of Go Digit Infoworks Services Pvt Ltd with Go Digit General Insurance. The deal combines the holding company with the insurer, with Go Digit General Insurance continuing as the surviving entity after the amalgamation.

The approval clears an important regulatory step for the transaction. Based on the announced structure, Go Digit Infoworks Services will be merged into the insurance company rather than operating separately once the process is completed.

A key outcome of the merger is the expected shareholding pattern after the transaction. Following the amalgamation, Fairfax group entities are set to hold a 57.28% stake in the insurer, underscoring the group’s significant position in the company.

The CCI decision is notable for Go Digit General Insurance as it moves ahead with a corporate restructuring involving its holding company. The approval signals that the competition regulator has cleared the transaction under India’s merger review process.
