Bank of Ireland has appointed James Magill as its new Chief People Officer, adding a senior executive to its leadership team. The bank said Magill will take up the role in November.
As part of the move, Magill will also become a member of Bank of Ireland’s Group Executive Committee. That places the people and workforce brief at the center of the bank’s top-level decision-making structure.
Magill joins Bank of Ireland from Vodafone, bringing experience from outside the banking sector into one of Ireland’s biggest financial groups. The announcement points to a leadership transition focused on the bank’s people function.
The appointment marks a notable change in Bank of Ireland’s executive lineup ahead of Magill’s start later this year. His arrival in November will formally add him to both the Chief People Officer position and the Group Executive Committee.
