Manipal Health Enterprises has raised ₹4,167 crore from anchor investors ahead of its initial public offering, giving the issue an early boost before public bidding begins. The IPO, valued at ₹9,275 crore, has now opened for public subscription.

According to the company’s circular, more than 7.06 crore equity shares were allotted to anchor investors at ₹590 apiece. That price is at the upper end of the IPO band, indicating strong institutional interest before the offer opened to other investors.

Among the anchor investors named were Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and Allianz Global Investors Fund. Their participation is likely to be closely watched by the market, as anchor allocations often signal the level of confidence large global investors have in a public issue.

With the anchor portion completed at the top end of the price band, attention now shifts to the wider response from retail and other investor categories. The public subscription phase will determine how strongly the broader market backs Manipal Health’s share sale.
