Villagers in Bucchimpeta, in Andhra Pradesh’s Anakapalli district, staged a symbolic “begging” protest over a drinking water crisis, drawing attention to their demand for clean and safe water. Carrying empty pots, residents highlighted the seriousness of the situation and the daily hardship caused by the lack of usable water.
According to the report, the protest was triggered by contamination in local borewell water. With regular access to safe drinking water affected, villagers said they were left with no option but to publicly demonstrate and press for urgent action.
