Samsung says its latest foldable phone launch in India has set a new benchmark for the category. The company reported more than 271,000 pre-orders within the first 72 hours for the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8, and Galaxy Z Flip8.

That pace appears to be far ahead of last year’s performance. Based on Samsung India’s figures, reaching the same level of demand previously took around 15 days, highlighting a much faster response for the new foldable lineup.

The early numbers suggest stronger buyer interest in premium foldables in India, especially across Samsung’s newest book-style and flip-style devices. While the company launched three models, the headline result is the speed at which pre-orders accumulated after the phones became available.

For Samsung, the launch points to growing momentum for foldable smartphones in one of its key markets. If the pre-order trend continues, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Z Fold8, and Z Flip8 could mark one of the company’s strongest foldable rollouts in India to date.
