The ET Family Business Awards brought several prominent Indian companies into focus, with Serum Institute of India, Mankind Pharma and Varun Beverages among the winners in the spotlight. The event highlighted the influence of family-led businesses across sectors and their role in shaping both industry and society.
Serum Institute of India was recognised for philanthropic leadership, with the honour reflecting its broader social contribution as well as its business success. The recognition also drew attention to the idea that institutions are expected not only to grow commercially but also to give back to society, a theme highlighted by executive director Natasha Poonawalla.
Mankind Pharma received recognition as a Make in India champion, underlining its growth story and the strength of an Indian company built at scale. The award placed the focus on how family-run enterprises continue to expand their footprint while contributing to domestic manufacturing and the broader economy.
Varun Beverages was also among the companies recognised, adding to the list of major family businesses celebrated at the awards. Taken together, the winners showed how Indian family-led firms are being acknowledged not just for financial performance, but also for social impact, expansion and long-term contribution.
