Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said the telecom manufacturing zone being developed in Gwalior is expected to attract investment of about ₹10,000 crore to ₹12,000 crore over two phases. The project is being positioned as a major industrial push for Madhya Pradesh.
The Gwalior telecom manufacturing hub is aimed at strengthening domestic production in the telecom sector. By building a dedicated manufacturing ecosystem, the initiative is expected to support India’s broader effort to expand local output and reduce dependence on imports in a strategic industry.
Scindia said the new zone could also generate large-scale employment, making it important not only for manufacturing growth but also for job creation in the region. A project of this size is likely to bring in multiple companies and related supply-chain activity as the zone develops.
The announcement highlights Gwalior’s emerging role in telecom manufacturing and industrial investment. If the planned phases move ahead as projected, the zone could become a significant anchor for telecom production in central India and a notable addition to Madhya Pradesh’s investment pipeline.
