Axis Bank has appointed Rajeev Mantri as its new chief financial officer, according to a regulatory filing made on July 18. The move brings in a senior banking executive with prior experience leading finance operations at Bandhan Bank.
Mantri is set to assume the CFO role on September 28. Axis Bank said he will fill the lender’s vacant finance chief position, marking an important leadership appointment at one of India’s major private sector banks.
Before this appointment, Mantri served as Executive President and CFO at Bandhan Bank. He stepped down from that post in June, and under Bandhan Bank’s notice period rules, his last working day there will be September 25.
The timing of his exit from Bandhan Bank allows him to join Axis Bank three days later. The appointment is a notable senior-level transition in the banking sector, with Axis Bank turning to an experienced finance executive for the CFO role.
