India added more athletics medals at CWG 2026 in Glasgow, with Soman Rana leading the way by winning gold in para shot put. It was a strong session for the Indian contingent, which also collected two medals in the men’s triple jump.
Praveen Chitravel secured the silver medal in triple jump with an effort of 16.58 metres. His performance kept India in the medal positions in one of the key field events and added to the country’s productive day on the track and field program.
Selva Prabhu Thirumaran completed India’s double podium finish in the event by taking bronze. With Chitravel finishing second and Thirumaran third, India managed to place two athletes among the medal winners in the same competition.
Rana’s gold in para shot put, along with the silver and bronze from the triple jumpers, highlighted a successful outing for India in Glasgow. The results underlined the team’s depth across both para athletics and field events at CWG 2026.
