Adani Total Gas Ltd has increased compressed natural gas prices by ₹4 per kg across its operating areas, with the revision taking effect from August 1. The company linked the move to a sharp rise in the cost of sourcing natural gas.
According to the available details, the price increase comes as liquefied natural gas costs remain elevated. The company also pointed to a tighter supply of domestic gas, which has added pressure on input costs for city gas distribution businesses.
Geopolitical disruptions in global energy markets were cited as another reason behind the change. With supply conditions becoming more uncertain, companies that depend on gas sourcing are facing higher procurement expenses, which can eventually feed into retail CNG prices.
The latest revision highlights how shifts in international LNG markets and domestic gas availability continue to influence fuel costs for consumers. For Adani Total Gas, the increase appears to be a response to sustained pressure on supply and sourcing economics rather than a temporary adjustment.
