Passenger vehicle dispatches in India’s domestic market are estimated to have climbed 33% in July, reaching about 4.7 lakh units. The sharp rise points to a strong month for the auto industry, with higher volumes across several major manufacturers.
Market leader Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai were at the centre of the surge, both reporting record domestic sales. Their performance helped drive overall passenger vehicle growth and underlined the strength of demand in the market during the month.
Other leading automakers also contributed to the expansion. Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra posted substantial double-digit gains, adding to the broad-based improvement in July passenger vehicle dispatches.
Taken together, the latest numbers indicate a robust start to the month for India’s car market. With top brands reporting strong domestic volumes, July emerged as a standout period for passenger vehicle sales growth.
