Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said India continues to grow strongly despite pressures from the Hormuz situation and other global crises. Speaking in Madurai, she presented India’s economic momentum as a sign of resilience even as international uncertainty affects markets and trade.

Addressing young entrepreneurs, Sitharaman encouraged them to take risks and build new ventures. She linked that message to India’s expanding startup ecosystem, suggesting that the country’s current environment offers opportunities for founders willing to innovate and scale.

The minister also pointed to the wide reach of UPI as an example of India’s growing digital strength. Along with the startup boom, she highlighted stable policies as an important factor supporting confidence in the economy and helping businesses plan for long-term growth.

Her remarks framed India’s progress as driven by both economic stability and a fast-changing innovation landscape. By combining policy continuity, digital adoption and entrepreneurial energy, she argued that India is well placed to keep expanding despite external shocks.
