Authorities in Spokane County say a man has been arrested and charged with first-degree arson in connection with the Old Trails Fire, one of three major wildfires burning in the county. Sheriff John Nowels announced the arrest late Monday, and the suspect was identified as Aaron F. Farinacci.

The arrest adds a criminal investigation to an already fast-moving wildfire emergency in eastern Washington. Officials are working to contain multiple fires at the same time, while residents across the county face evacuations and ongoing uncertainty.
