Ukraine’s Defence Ministry said July 2026 was marked by intensified Russian air attacks along the line of contact and sustained high-intensity ground fighting. The ministry described the month as involving the highest number of glide bombs recorded during the period covered.

The assessment also pointed to almost 8,000 combat engagements across the front line in July. That figure reflects the continued scale of fighting as Russian forces increased pressure in both aerial and ground operations.

The ministry’s update, published on 4 August, presented the monthly figures as evidence of a sharp escalation in the use of air power and the overall tempo of combat. It characterized the attacks as part of Russia’s ongoing campaign along the front line.
