The issue recently drew attention in Las Vegas, where temperatures reached 114 degrees Fahrenheit. American Airlines offered compensation to passengers who voluntarily gave up their seats, highlighting how extreme heat can affect both flight schedules and travelers’ plans.
As high-temperature events become more common, passengers may face delays for reasons that are not immediately visible from the airport or the weather forecast. Clear skies, therefore, do not always guarantee an on-time departure.
