A promotional Nagdhunga Tunnel Run and Walk was organised in Kathmandu to build public awareness around the Nagdhunga Tunnel, widely described as Nepal’s first road tunnel. The programme focused on introducing the project to the public and highlighting the expected advantages linked to the tunnel.

According to the event details, the programme was jointly organised by Nepal’s Department of Roads and the Japan International Cooperation Agency, or JICA. Their involvement underscored the importance of the tunnel project and the effort to familiarise people with its role in the country’s transport network.

The awareness event used a public run and walk format to draw attention to the tunnel in an accessible way. By connecting infrastructure promotion with community participation, organisers sought to generate wider interest in the project and explain why it matters.

The Nagdhunga Tunnel has been presented as a major step in Nepal’s road development. The latest promotional event in Kathmandu reflected an effort to keep the public informed about the tunnel and the benefits it is expected to bring.
