Weezer have released the video for “C.E.O.,” the latest single from their album The Gold Album. The clip reworks the band’s visual identity through a comic homage to “Undone (The Sweater Song),” one of Weezer’s best-known videos.
Rather than simply repeating the original concept, the new video brings Tony Hawk and Christopher Mintz-Plasse into the spotlight, effectively replacing Weezer in the spoofed scenario. Their appearance gives the single a fresh pop-culture angle while connecting it to the band’s earlier work.
The story also features record executives portrayed by Rob Riggle and Rob Huebel. They pressure Rivers Cuomo to reenact the iconic video, setting up the central joke behind “C.E.O.” and its playful take on music-business expectations.
The release continues The Gold Album campaign with a visual built around nostalgia, celebrity cameos and a self-aware reference to Weezer’s catalog.
