Bhopal Metro is preparing a major service upgrade on its Orange Line, with daily trips set to rise from 9 to 20. The change is expected to improve availability for passengers and make the system more useful for regular commuting across the corridor.
Along with the higher number of trips, services will begin two hours earlier than before. That earlier start is likely to benefit office-goers and other morning travelers who need more flexible public transport options at the beginning of the day.
The planned improvement follows certification for CBTC, or communications-based train control, which allows operations on two tracks. With two-track running in place, the metro can handle more trips more efficiently and support a smoother operating pattern than before.
Travel time on the Orange Line is also expected to fall by more than a third, making journeys faster as well as more frequent. Taken together, the increase in trips, earlier departures and shorter travel time mark a significant step forward for Bhopal Metro’s service expansion.
