Air India Group expects to add around 50 to 60 aircraft over the next 18 months, signalling continued momentum in its fleet expansion and wider overhaul plan. The airline said its transformation programme remains on course despite difficult conditions affecting the global aviation sector.
The carrier’s update points to fleet modernisation as a key part of its long-term strategy. Bringing in new aircraft is central to improving operations, expanding capacity and supporting the group’s broader effort to reshape the business.
At the same time, Air India acknowledged that delivery timelines have been affected by external pressures. Supply chain disruptions and geopolitical challenges have created delays across the industry, making aircraft induction schedules harder to predict for airlines worldwide.
Even with those headwinds, the company said its transformation remains on track. The outlook suggests Air India is continuing to push ahead with renewal plans while adapting to a volatile environment that has complicated aircraft manufacturing and delivery pipelines.
