The Honda Prologue appears to be reaching the end of its run after only about two years on the market, giving the electric SUV an unusually short lifespan. For Honda, that would make the Prologue a brief chapter in its push into the U.S. EV space.

The model did not start out as a flop. At one stage, it ranked among the better-selling new electric vehicles in the United States, showing that there was early interest from buyers. That momentum, however, seems to have faded quickly.

In the first half of 2026, Honda sold 8,407 Prologues in the U.S., according to the reported figures. That was down 48.5% from the same period a year earlier, a steep decline that points to a major slowdown in demand.

If the Prologue is indeed done after such a short time on sale, its rise and fall will stand out in the crowded EV market. What looked like a promising entry for Honda now appears to be a short-lived product whose early success did not last.
