Nuvoco is stepping up its presence outside eastern India, with Gujarat emerging as a major focus in its expansion strategy. The company, described as the country’s fifth-largest cement maker, currently sells about 1.5 million tonnes of cement annually in the state and is targeting five million tonnes by 2030.

The plan is tied to expectations of continued growth in Gujarat’s cement demand. The state’s market is projected to increase from roughly 32 million tonnes at present to nearly 40 million tonnes by 2030, creating room for larger volumes and sharper competition among producers.

If Nuvoco reaches its sales goal, its share of the Gujarat market would be about 12%, according to the figures indicated in the report. That would significantly strengthen its standing in the state and could place it among Gujarat’s leading cement suppliers by the end of the decade.

The Gujarat push signals a broader geographic diversification effort for Nuvoco as it looks beyond its traditional strongholds. For the company, the state appears to offer both scale and long-term demand growth, making it a key part of its next phase of business expansion.
