Georgia’s five largest banks are set to modernize their treasury operations through a joint platform backed by the National Bank of Georgia and supported by Nasdaq Calypso. The partnership marks a major infrastructure move for the country’s banking sector, with the aim of creating a more consistent and scalable foundation for treasury activity.

According to the announcement, the shared system is designed to cover the full trade lifecycle. That includes front-office functions such as deal capture and pricing, as well as middle-office tasks tied to risk management and compliance. It also extends to back-office processes including settlement, accounting and financing.

The project signals a shift toward common, globally recognized market infrastructure for key banking operations in Georgia. By using a shared platform, the participating banks are expected to gain access to standardized tools and workflows that can help improve efficiency, oversight and operational resilience.

With support from the country’s central bank, the rollout also reflects a broader push to strengthen the financial system as the sector grows. The partnership brings together international treasury technology and domestic regulatory backing in what is being positioned as a landmark step for Georgia’s banking market.
