JSW Steel Joint Managing Director Jayant Acharya said large-scale rebuilding efforts in parts of the world affected by conflict could support steel consumption and bring some stability to the global market. He pointed in particular to the Middle East, as well as Ukraine and Palestine, as regions where reconstruction demand may become an important driver.

The broader view is that peace and rebuilding often create sustained need for materials such as steel, especially for infrastructure, housing and industrial projects. If those projects gather pace, they could help balance the market by adding fresh demand at a time when global conditions are being closely watched.

Acharya also indicated that steel demand in India remains strong. That domestic support is significant for producers, as it provides a solid base even while international markets respond to geopolitical developments and the timing of reconstruction activity in other regions.

His comments suggest that the steel sector is looking beyond short-term swings and focusing on where future demand may emerge. For global producers, reconstruction in key regions could become an important factor in improving sentiment and steadying the market over time.
