The Helicopter Company (THC) has signaled a major move beyond rotorcraft, signing a Letter of Intent with Bombardier at the Farnborough International Airshow 2026 for a fleet of up to 60 business jets. The planned expansion marks what the company described as the natural next step in its growth into business aviation.
Under the LOI, THC is working toward a firm order for 12 aircraft. The proposed lineup includes five Challenger 3500 jets, five Global 5500 aircraft and two Global 8000 jets. The agreement also includes purchase options for an additional 48 aircraft, which would bring the total potential fleet to 60 jets.
The announcement points to a significant diversification strategy for THC as it broadens its presence in aviation. By targeting Bombardier’s business jet range, the company appears to be positioning itself to serve a wider set of premium and long-range travel needs alongside its existing helicopter operations.
For Bombardier, the preliminary deal highlights continued demand for its business aircraft portfolio at one of the industry's most prominent events. While the agreement remains a letter of intent rather than a final purchase contract, it outlines a substantial potential order and a notable new step for THC in the business aviation market.
