The Goa cabinet has cleared the transfer of 15,000 square metres of land in Ponda for the establishment of a Composite Rehabilitation Centre. The move marks a key administrative step toward creating a dedicated facility for rehabilitation-related services in the state.
According to the announcement, the project’s construction and operational costs will be borne by the central government. The funding support is set to come through AJNISHD, indicating that the centre will be developed with backing from a national-level institution.
The land allotment is significant because it gives the project a physical base and moves it closer to implementation. With the site identified in Ponda, planning for the centre can now advance under the approved framework.
The decision reflects coordination between the Goa government and the Centre on expanding rehabilitation infrastructure. Once developed, the facility is expected to strengthen access to organized rehabilitation support in the region.
