ServiceNow has acquired roughly a 5% stake in BusinessNext, in a transaction that values the Indian software company at $700 million. The deal gives the U.S.-based enterprise software group a minority position in a firm focused on banking technology.

The investment also deepens ties between the two companies at a time when software providers are looking for stronger positions in financial services. Based on the disclosed valuation, BusinessNext is being priced as a sizable player in India’s enterprise software market.

A key part of the partnership is BusinessNext’s plan to expand its autonomous banking tools with support from ServiceNow. That points to a broader push around automation in banking, where software companies are trying to help institutions streamline operations and digital workflows.

For BusinessNext, the agreement could strengthen its growth strategy as it scales its offerings. For ServiceNow, the purchase adds exposure to a banking-focused software business in India while building a closer partnership around next-generation financial technology.
