GE Aerospace said National Airlines has agreed to buy additional engines for its cargo fleet, adding one GE90-110B and six CF6-80C2 units. The engines are set to support the carrier’s Boeing 777F and 747F freighter aircraft, strengthening a long-running supplier relationship between the two companies.
The latest order points to continued investment by National Airlines in widebody freighter operations. The GE90 engine is used on the Boeing 777F, while the CF6-80C2 powers the Boeing 747F, making the purchase closely tied to the airline’s cargo aircraft needs.
GE Aerospace also indicated that the deal builds on recent business between the companies. In the announcement, the manufacturer noted that National Airlines had only recently added more GE90 engines, suggesting the carrier is continuing to standardize key parts of its freighter fleet around GE powerplants.
The order was announced in Farnborough, underscoring steady demand for engines and support equipment tied to global air cargo operations. For GE Aerospace, the agreement adds to its commercial engine business in the freight segment, while for National Airlines it supports fleet capability across two major Boeing freighter types.
