Mercedes-Benz India says all of its vehicles sold since January are compatible with E25 fuel, signaling readiness for higher ethanol blending in the market. The company said this applies to more than 10,000 vehicles delivered during the period.
The luxury carmaker also noted that it has not seen any incidents linked to the use of E20 fuel so far. That update is significant as automakers and buyers closely watch how premium vehicles adapt to India’s evolving fuel standards.
On the issue of CAFE-3 norms, the company said it is taking a neutral position. Mercedes-Benz India indicated that its lineup already spans multiple powertrain options, including petrol, diesel, electric models and plug-in hybrids.
The comments underline the brand’s strategy of keeping a broad portfolio rather than relying on a single technology path. For the industry, the update adds to the discussion around fuel compatibility, emissions rules and the transition toward cleaner mobility options in India.
