Akums Drugs and Pharmaceuticals has announced plans to acquire the manufacturing business of Oriflame India in a deal valued at Rs 56 crore. The transaction marks a notable step for Akums as it broadens its presence beyond its existing operations.
As part of the acquisition, Akums will take over two manufacturing facilities along with a leased warehouse linked to Oriflame India’s production business. The move gives the company immediate manufacturing assets that can support its next phase of growth.
A key highlight of the deal is Akums’ entry into the colour cosmetics segment. By adding Oriflame India’s manufacturing base, the company is positioning itself to diversify its product portfolio and strengthen its footprint in the broader beauty and personal care space.
The acquisition reflects a wider strategy of expansion through capability-building and asset addition. With this purchase, Akums is set to deepen its manufacturing reach while tapping into a new category with established infrastructure already in place.
