Infosys began the new financial year on a cautious footing, reporting an 8.6% quarter-on-quarter decline in net profit to ₹7,769 crore for the June quarter. The company also tightened its FY27 revenue growth outlook in constant currency terms, signaling a more measured view of near-term demand.

The updated guidance reflects a softer tone at the start of the year, with Infosys lowering the upper end of its earlier forecast range. That suggests the company is preparing for an uneven business environment even as it continues to pursue large client opportunities and protect execution momentum.

At the same time, Infosys highlighted areas of strength in its quarterly performance. AI-related revenue rose to 8.2%, showing the growing contribution of artificial intelligence-led work to its business mix. Large deal wins totaled $3.6 billion, indicating that the company is still securing significant contracts despite broader uncertainty.

Infosys also kept its hiring plans in place, a sign that it does not expect the slowdown in outlook to materially change its workforce strategy for now. The combination of weaker sequential profit, a tighter growth range, rising AI contribution and strong deal wins points to a company balancing caution on demand with continued investment in future growth areas.
