ABL Group has secured a marine warranty survey services contract from Oil Search (PNG) for Papua New Guinea’s first offshore floating storage and offloading facility. The award places ABL in a support role for a landmark offshore energy development in the country.
According to the announcement, ABL will assist across several project stages tied to key equipment at the facility. Its scope includes support for supply, transport, installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, helping oversee marine operations linked to the offshore build-out.
Marine warranty survey work is a specialist service used to review and monitor marine logistics and installation processes, particularly on complex offshore projects. In this case, the contract highlights the operational planning required for moving and installing major equipment safely and in line with project requirements.
The deal also underlines continued activity in Papua New Guinea’s offshore energy sector, with the planned FSO facility representing a first for the country. For ABL, the contract adds another assignment in offshore project assurance, while for Oil Search (PNG) it supports progress on a significant piece of marine infrastructure.
