India’s whole cardamom exports posted a sharp rise over the past two years, with export earnings crossing $436 million in 2025-26. In value terms, outbound shipments climbed to $436.8 million, up from $131.9 million in 2023-24, marking more than a threefold increase over the period.
The growth was also visible in physical shipments. Export volume rose to 16,399 tonnes in 2025-26, compared with 7,674 tonnes in the previous fiscal year and 7,083 tonnes in 2023-24. That means volumes more than doubled in two years, underlining a strong expansion in India’s whole cardamom trade.
The latest figures point to a notable improvement in both export realization and shipment scale. While the available data highlights the jump in value and volume, it clearly shows that whole cardamom has emerged as a stronger export performer for India during this period.
With exports rising steeply in both dollar terms and tonnage, the 2025-26 numbers mark a significant milestone for India’s spice trade. The trend also highlights the growing importance of whole cardamom in the country’s agricultural export basket.
