Bajaj Auto was the top player in India’s overall three-wheeler retail market in July, while Mahindra Last Mile Mobility led the electric three-wheeler segment, according to VAHAN registration data.
The latest numbers point to a strong shift toward battery-powered vehicles in this category. Nearly one out of every two three-wheelers registered during the month was electric, giving EVs a 48.6% share of total retail registrations.
Electric three-wheeler registrations also showed rapid growth, rising 84.3% in July. That jump highlights how quickly electric models are expanding in a segment that is widely used for passenger and small commercial transport across India.
The data suggests that the three-wheeler market is becoming increasingly EV-driven, even as competition remains split between overall market leadership and electric-only leadership. Bajaj held the top spot in total retail registrations, while Mahindra Last Mile Mobility emerged as the leading manufacturer in electric three-wheelers.
