Jordan Kuwait Bank has launched its second Green Bond in partnership with the International Finance Corporation, in a move aimed at supporting sustainable finance in Jordan. The new issuance builds on the bank’s earlier activity in the green finance market and highlights growing interest in funding environmentally focused projects through capital markets.

According to the announcement, IFC plans to invest up to USD 100 million in Jordan Kuwait Bank’s green bond issuance. That backing signals support from a major international development institution and could help expand funding for projects designed to deliver environmental benefits.

Green bonds are debt instruments used to raise money exclusively for eligible projects with a sustainability focus. In this case, the issuance is intended to channel capital toward greener investments in Jordan, while also strengthening the country’s broader sustainable finance landscape.

The transaction underscores how banks in Jordan are increasingly using specialized financing tools to support climate- and environment-related goals. With IFC involved in the second issuance, Jordan Kuwait Bank is positioning green bonds as a recurring part of its approach to sustainable funding.
